The state’s most visited national park, Zion is a 229-square-mile spectacle of narrow canyons, forested plateaus and enormous sandstone monoliths that tower thousands of feet above canyon floors. In addition to breathtaking scenery, the park is also a showcase of biodiversity, including 78 species of mammals, 291 bird species and more than 1,000 species of plants. The park features everything from harsh desert environments to lush, hanging gardens such as Weeping Rock, one of the most popular hiking trails in the park.

The Zion, UT region is home to many other scenic attractions worth visiting, including two displays of colorful rock formations in seemingly every shape and size: Bryce Canyon National Park and Cedar Breaks National Monument. Both are located at high elevations and are perfect respites from the summer heat. The area is also home to state parks such as Kodachrome Basin, Snow Canyon, Sand Hollow, and Coral Pink Sand Dunes.

Panguitch is an ideal lodging headquarters when visiting Zion, UT and its surrounding natural wonders. Panguitch is only 24 miles and 32 miles from Bryce Canyon and Cedar Breaks, respectively. Zion, UT is only 75 miles to the south, making it an easy day trip on two of the state’s scenic byways, U.S. 89 and UT 9.
