Red Canyon, the Dixie National Forest, Kodachrome Basin State Park, Escalante Petrified Forest State Park, Grand Staircase-Escalante State Park, Anasazi State Park and Boulder Mountain are in between these two parks along the 124-mile route.

Winding through slickrock canyons, red rock cliffs, aspen and pine forests, and charming Utah towns such as Tropic, Escalante and Boulder, this national scenic byway is a portal to top-notch outdoor recreation. Outfitters along the route provide ATV tours, horseback rides, and scenic flights. The region offers hundreds of miles of hiking and mountain biking trails and some of the most panoramic vistas you will ever see in your life.
