Home to first-class scenic attractions and top-notch recreation, the Grand Circle is heaven for any outdoor enthusiast

If you are planning a tour of the Grand Circle, the Garfield County Travel Council should be your first call or stop for information. The Grand Circle is a close concentration of national parks, monuments and recreation areas that includes Zion National Park, Capitol Reef National Park, Grand Canyon National Park, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (Lake Powell), Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, and Bryce Canyon National Park, located only 24 miles from our office!

In addition to National Park Service-administered sites, the Grand Circle is home to the Dixie National Forest, Red Canyon, Kodachrome Basin State Park, Escalante Petrified Forest State Park, Anasazi State Park, Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park and numerous lakes and reservoirs. The region is a hotbed for outdoor recreation, including hiking, mountain biking, ATV riding, fishing, horseback riding, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. One of the most scenically diverse places on earth, there is something for everyone in the Grand Circle.

We answer the most questions about Bryce Canyon National Park because of its close proximity to us. Called a “helluva place to lose a cow” by its namesake, early pioneer Ebenezer Bryce, Bryce Canyon is not really a canyon but a series of horseshoe-shaped amphitheaters displaying rock pinnacles in all shapes and sizes. Known as hoodoos, these pillar-like rock formations vary in color from orange to red to pink to chalky white. When you hike Bryce Canyon’s trails, you will encounter fanciful formations, from Thor’s Hammer to Queen Victoria to The Poodle. You can let your imagination run wild figuring out what each hoodoo looks like when you visit Bryce Canyon, one of the most popular destinations in the Grand Circle.
